The State Department Report (linked above) is really interesting and is actually an easy read!! Not at all what I expected a government report to be.
I recommend reading it. Learning and so far, makes sense. Changing my view of Cuba as just a small failing state to hardly pay attention to. I was very mistaken.
The revelation of Jayapal negotiating with Russia for fuel supplies for Cuba and her interests in promoting socialism are remarkably telling. What was just suspicion before, is now exclamatory. In my mind, Jayapal is enemy number one in the state of Washington. She needs to be called to a reckoning.
Yes on both, my younger son is the one who leans more Marxist. I love them both. They have to figure their lives out now. I do not engage the political stuff, I stay emotionally available and set a good example. It's all I do now
Andy, none of this surprises me. Ii am the lone conservative in the family I grew up in, definitely a pariah. My wife and I have raised two sons in a calmly conservative household. My younger son went to St. Paul's school in New Hampshire, a very left place and was one of the only conservative students there (which was particularly hard because he is gay). Both of my grown sons went to college, one at Texas Lutheran University and the other at the University of Chicago. Both of them now are hard-core leftists
That is a shame. They were indoctrinated by the Educational System. I would wager they find the DSA and Socialism appealing. I would also wager you paid for that indoctrination or assisted in paying for it.
We have had a similar experience. Both of our children live overseas because they hate America and what it stands for. This radicalization began when they entered school in the early 80's. Teachers daily repeating Marxist ideology has purged a generation of reasonableness, belief in our form of government and American Pride. We as parents did not know and did not talk politics with our children to our shame. Do not be like us, folks.
They now believe that so called transgenders can actually have periods & have babies through their anus. I am not making this up. Is any kind of rational discourse possible with people like this? Maybe they are confusing bleeding hemorrhoids with periods & tape worms with babies.
Well, I was very clear on where I stood when my sons were growing up, and they seemed on board, but University changed that immensely. I grew up in a generational Democrat family, everyone voted Dem, like I said earlier, I became a pariah because of it, bottom line, my sons have to figure it all out
