There was a time in society where you could call this out as a mental illness. Just because current state of affairs people are not, does not make it untrue. Mentally unstable people use to be committed if they were harming themselves, harming others, or were at risk of harming themselves or others....nothing about this is even remotely normal and I give normal a wide swath.
